Free Layer Cake Pattern

I am not much of a writer, but as with all blogs I am going to attempt to throw myself into the virtual world of blogging, hopefully meet some friends, get inspired by others and create a blog where people will like to visit. You can come and see what we have going on in the shop and share whats on your mind. Whether it be about quilting or life, we are all in it together. Join us =)

Today in the shop I am working on our pre-cut workshop and I am pretty excited about how it is all coming together.  We are using the FREE  Layer Cake Lattice pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. I love it when patterns are free… that makes buying the fabric for the project that much easier/cheaper ;) Anywhoo, I am using the Grand Majolica fabric by Robert Kaufman for my quilt. The pattern uses the Valley fabric, and I have Valley fabric in the store but unfortunately I didn’t plan too well and I only have a few layer cakes left and will be leaving those for the ladies who decide to join me during this workshop.

Layer Cake Lattice on a longarm The other project going on in the store today is the long-arming of this BEAUTIFUL quilt =) This was made by a dear lady in the Valley named Jean. Her work is always beautiful. I love the vintage fabrics with the chevron pattern. I couldn’t say enough wonderful things about this quilt. I just love it and wish it was going on my bed.

Tonight I am hoping to convince my husband to take me out for pizza instead of eating the chicken salad that is in my fridge…. wish me luck!

Happy Quilting everyone. Enjoy making something beautiful.
